The Australian Children's Music Foundation conducts a National Songwriting Competition for all Australian school age children each year, which is sponsored by DEEWR.
The aim of the competition is to engage students in writing and performing music and to highlight the role of music in schools. The ACMF is a
non-profit organisation that puts music programs into disadvantaged and remote schools and Juvenile Justice Centres throughout Australia.
Entry in the competition is free. All winners receive monetary prizes to be used for musical equipment or tuition for both themselves and their school.
Click here to go to the competition website for full information.
Alternatively, you can go to our website and follow the links to the National Songwriting Competition.
The ACMF National Songwriting Competition is now open to all school-aged children (Kindergarten-Year 12). With a prize pool of over $30,000, the winning songwriters aren't the only ones who are rewarded - their school is too!
It's free to enter, and there is no limit of entries per person.
Songwriting is a positive form of self expression. It enhances creativity and concentration. We would love your support by encouraging Australia's youth to put their feelings and thoughts to paper and entering the 2011 National Songwriting Competition.
The best singer won't necessarily win; the best song will!
