The APPA Executive, together with the Executives of the other major Principals' associations, met with officers from the Commonwealth Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations on 21/22 May. 1. Information about the outcomes from the recent
Federal Budget and the directions for education for the next few years.

2. The preliminary reports from the OECD's project Improving School Leadership. This project is a comparative investigation of the current state of school leadership and school leadership development in more than 20 countries in the OECD. Each country provided a report to the project, from which the comparative report was written by a team led by David Hopkins. One of the purposes of the meeting was to seek feedback from the Principals' associations on a range of ways that the final report could be used in Australia to develop and enhance school leadership in the future.
- Supporting Strong Australian School Leaders (161Kb pdf file) - a briefing paper prepared by Michelle Anderson (Australian Council for Educational Research) Supporting Strong Australian School Leaders, which formed a basis for the discussion about possible future directions.
