School Leaders and Standards: A Vision for Leadership - "During the past decade a new view of the school leader has begun to emerge in the United States, a view that refocuses leadership on its primary mission - teaching for learning and student success. The driving force behind this vision of leadership has been the establishment of a set of the Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC) Standards for School Leaders. These Standards were created as a project of a national organization that represents the chief school officers of each of the 50 states - the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO). This article reports on some of the impact that these Standards are having in shaping the new vision of school leadership."
