Uniting Staff for School Renewal - "IDEAS is a researched based, internationally recognised process which is assisting a growing number of schools to develop their vision, values and practices within a local framework. IDEAS is not another add on but rather an opportunity for schools to align practices with their chosen direction.
Key features of IDEAS
The IDEAS process (Innovative Designs for Enhancing Achievement in Improving Schools) is a comprehensive approach to school revitalisation that values the work and professionalism of teachers. The process has been developed by the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) and is grounded in research into successful school renewal.
Twenty-one Victorian Government schools participated in a pilot of IDEAS in 2005 and 2006 to achieve sustainable excellence in teaching and learning. These schools committed to a two-year process of professional learning and building teacher leadership led by an in-school team and supported by the staff of USQ. A further thirteen Victorian Government schools have committed to participating in the second phase on IDEAS in 2007 and 2008."
