Transformational Leadership Practices of Teacher Leaders

Transformational Leadership Practices of Teacher Leaders - "The most significant challenge of leadership is to build and sustain an organizational culture that focuses on continual improvement of educational programs, teachers’ capacities and skills, and student learning. The school administrator as the primary instructional leader is insufficient to meet these challenges and, as a result, several experts advocate the dispersal of leadership authority within a school (e.g., Harris, 2003; Fullan, 2001; Lambert, 1998; Leithwood & Riehl, 2003; Sergiovanni, 2001). Such dispersal has the potential to motivate teachers, improve the quality of teaching in the classroom and positively impact student achievement."
